2011 Southeast Color Connection Conference & Trade Show CanceledSource: Southeast Color Connection

Poor economic conditions and an ongoing drought in the South were major factors into the decision to cancel next year’s Southeast Greenhouse Conference & Trade Show, which was scheduled to be held June 15-17, 2011, in Greenville, S.C.

After market analysis and discussion, Jeff Mast, chair of the Southeast Greenhouse Conference & Trade Show board of directors, said, “If you add the ‘great recession’ to the poor economic conditions and ongoing drought in the South you will get a combination of factors that affected attendance and exhibit sales. Until the economy stabilizes, it is not feasible to hold the conference.”

The event was established in 1993 as a regional educational conference and trade show, was originally called the “Southeast Greenhouse Conference.” It was rebranded in 2009 to “SGC Presents Southeast Color Connection” to better reflect opportunities available to attendees and industry suppliers.
