Have You Made Your Reservations Yet? By Tim Hodson

It’s hard to believe but OFA Short Course is only 40 days away.

This year OFA Short Course will take place July 14 to 17, at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Have you made your reservations to get to Columbus yet? More importantly, have you registered to attend yet?

OFA Short Course is the place to be in July as the industry comes together to see and learn about the latest varieties and products to stay competitive in today’s marketplace.

Exhibit space on the trade show floor is already sold out (see story below), but there is plenty of room for attendees.

This year, conference organizers have put together more than 35 educational sessions and workshop tailored specifically for growers to learn about the latest business and production practices. The lineup of presenters includes many of GPN’s regular authors like Jim Barrett, Ann Chase, Erik Runkle, Margery Daughtrey, Charlie Hall, Roberto Lopez, Raymond Cloyd, Stan Pohmer and Lloyd Traven just to name a few.

Two keynote presentations also are scheduled for this year. Television personality Joe Lamp’l (aka joe gardener) of “Growing a Greener World” and “GardenSMART” fame, will share ways to find and influence the ever-changing consumer in his presentation “Can You Hear Me Now? Voices from Beyond the Greenhouse.” His keynote session will take place Sunday, July 15, at 8 a.m.

On Monday, July 16, Sam Kass, White House Assistant Chef and Senior Policy Advisor for Healthy Food Initiatives, will present an enthusiastic message about gardening and planting home-grown fruits, herbs, and vegetables. Kass is an integral voice in First Lady Michelle Obama’s national discussion on the importance of healthful eating.

Don’t wait until it is too late. Register today!

I hope I see you in Columbus.
