Things are Really Going to Heat Up This MonthBy Tim Hodson

Welcome to July!

Summer is finally here as the mercury continues to climb in the Chicago area. We have already hit the 100 degree mark once this year and are expecting near triple digit temperatures again this week.

Things will be sizzling in Columbus, Ohio, in less than two weeks when 10,000 horticulture professionals get together for OFA Short Course.

By now, you should already know OFA Short Course (July 14 to 17) has more than 150 sessions and workshops where you can educate yourself on the latest business and production techniques you need to be successful. There also will be more than 500 companies filling up 1,500 booths on the the trade show exhibit floor for you to check out the latest new varieties, products and services.

But you can definitely expect some hot discussions to take place during OFA’s annual Town Hall Meeting where the theme for this year’s meeting is “Putting the Steak Back in the Sizzle.”

During the Town Meeting a panel of industry up-and-comers (including some of GPN’s 40 Under 40 honorees) as well as industry veterans will be on hand to discuss how anyone and everyone related to the industry can “put some meat back onto the bones of horticulture.”

Be sure to check out this special session to learn some fresh perspective on how you can spice things up, excite today’s consumers and grow your bottom line.

The Town Meeting will take place from 6 until 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 15.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn about what you can do, register for OFA Short Course today.

Have a save and enjoyable Indpendence Day!

Tim
