Are You Ready? By Tim Hodson

As of 7 a.m. CDT this morning, Isaac was still a tropical storm, but the weather experts expect it to reach hurricane status in the next day or so.

It looks like Isaac has his sights set squarely on the Gulf States – Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama – whether or not it is a Category 1 or Category 2 hurricane remains to be seen.

If you ask me, when it comes to hurricane ratings less is more. With any luck at all, Isaac will lose some of his steam and keep the impact to a minimum.

Mother Nature has not played favorites this year – she has been pretty dreadful to everyone. An early thaw, tornados, record heat, no rain, wildfires and now it’s hurricane season. She is really keeping growers, as well as everyone else, on their toes in 2012.

For those of you in Isaac’s path stay safe. Hopefully, you have had enough time to prepare for Isaac and are ready for whatever punch he packs.

Once things get back to normal in your area, drop me a line at thodson@greatamericanpublish.com and let me know how it was.
