The Week Ahead By Tim Hodson

The first full week of November looks like it is going to be a busy one.

I know that for many of you on the East Coast, you are still feeling the after effects of Hurricane/Superstorm Sandy and are trying to get back to normal. I’ve heard from several growers who were in or near the path of Sandy and are still without power but are managing to get by. Sandy’s wrath was pretty brutal and it is going to take some time for many people to get back into the swing of things.

Many of you have Sandy-related stories that I would really like to hear. If you were impacted by Sandy, once you are back to full speed, drop me a line at thodson@greatamericanpublish.com and let me know how you are coping or dealing with the historic storm.

Don’t Forget…

If the TV commercials, print ads, yard signs and personal appearances didn’t remind you already, don’t forget that tomorrow is Election Day. There is a lot at stake this year at the local, state and national level so don’t forget to stop by your local polling place and cast your vote.

For those of you in New England, the Northeast Greenhouse Conference is taking place this week (Nov. 7 and 8) in Worcester, Mass.

And on Thursday, the OFA Grow & Sell for Profit Conference will be taking place at Metrolina Greenhouses in Huntersville, N.C. The conference will go “on location” at Metrolina for practical classroom, demonstration and workshop learning opportunities covering a range of production and retailing topics.

You can still go to the conference website to register.

I hope you have a fantastic week!
