How About This Weather? By Tim Hodson

That question is often used as an innocuous conversation starter. But if you were to ask that question to people across the country today, be prepared for a detailed weather report.

Mother Nature has made her presence known over the past few days and her impact has been felt far and wide.

Winter Storm Nemo nailed the Northeast where some areas got as much as 40 inches of snow and a death toll approaching 20. The Big Digout continues today but now heavy rain is predicted for the region.

On Sunday, tornadoes and severe thunderstorms blew through the Southeast and now that part of the country is expecting more storms and flooding in the coming days.

And this morning I hear the reports that Winter Storm Orko is pounding the Northern Plains states with upwards of 2 feet of snow and making its way eastward.

We also had a bit of weather whiplash in the Midwest. In my backyard, we got 8 inches of snow on Thursday night, had a drenching thunderstorm on Sunday morning followed by near-50° temperatures on Sunday afternoon followed by 40-MPH winds last night and today.

Watching the weather report is not for the faint of heart any more, is it?

So I’ve got to ask. “How’s the weather in your neck of the woods? More importantly, how is it affecting your business?”
