A Winter Flashback? By Tim Hodson

Welcome to Week 1 of 2015! In the past few days, Father Time bowed out, Baby New Year debuted and Mother Nature made her presence known!

She finally decided to start 2015 with a big bang as Winter Storm Gorgon is now pounding us here in Illinois and 14 other states. In the Chicagoland area in the past couple of days we have had rain, sleet, gusty winds, snow, ice and then subzero overnight temps. According to the experts at the Weather Channel, Gorgon “is expected to bring a swath of snow more than 2,000 miles long from the Cascades and Northern Rockies across the Midwest and into the Northeast.”

All I know is that on Wednesday we are predicted to have a high temperature of 0 degrees! It’s almost like a flashback to last winter.

I knew winter would arrive eventually, but does it need to be so dramatic?

How’s Mother Nature treating you during Week 1 – are you feeling the effects of Gorgon? Drop me a line at thodson@greatamericanpublish.com and let me know how you’re dealing with the winter weather so far this year.

By the way, the first day of spring is just 73 days from today – I can’t wait!
