Time’s Running Out By Tim Hodson

The deadline to apply for Syngenta Flowers’ 2015 Goldsmith Scholarship program is next week – March 13 to be exact!

If you know a college student studying plant breeding or ornamental horticulture they just might be interested in applying for one of the two $7,500 scholarships that Syngenta Flowers is offering this year.

The Goldsmith Seeds Floriculture Business Advancement Scholarship is awarded to a student working toward a degree in ornamental horticulture business while the Glenn Goldsmith Breeding Excellence Scholarship recognizes a college student working toward a degree in plant breeding.

Students who wish to apply for these scholarships must submit a cover letter indicating the scholarship for which they wish to be considered along with their resume; name of the university they are attending and degree they are working toward with targeted graduation date; a letter of recommendation from the applicant’s professor or academic advisor; and an essay between 1,000 and 1,500 words describing what “Revolutionizing the Plant Experience” means to their career path.

This information must be submitted to goldsmithscholarship@gmail.com by March 13, 2015. The winning applicants will be notified in late March.
