AAS, NGB September Summit Early Bird Deadline Approaches By Tim Hodson

This September, All-America Selections (AAS) and National Garden Bureau (NGB) will host a joint Summer Summit in Rochester, New York.

And this year, AAS and NGB are partnering with the Home Garden Seed Association (HGSA) to host a back-to-back event in Canandaigua, New York.

The events will take place during the week of Sept. 5.

The Summer Summit is your chance to mix and mingle with AAS judges, NGB members, growers, breeders, brokers and retailers and tour some fascinating trial gardens, growing facilities and retail outlets. Registration is open to anyone in the horticulture industry.

Also during the Summit, All-America Selections’ annual awards banquet will take place Sept. 6

Among the tour stops this year are: Wegman’s Super Store, Wegman’s Organic Farm, Harris Seeds trial gardens, Greentopia, Green Vision’s cut flower farm, and the ecodistrict renaturalization around Niagara Falls.

There also will be tours in the Fingers Lake Region of Bejo’s vegetable trials and Sakata Seeds’ trials, Seneca Vegetable Research, Cornell University, HGSA’s trial gardens and the New York Wine and Culinary Center.

There are four different registration options for the meeting and tours, so you can pick the option that best fits your schedule.

Registration options include:

• To register for Tuesday reception and all day Wednesday: $195 before Aug. 5
• To register for Tuesday Reception, all day Wednesday and all day Thursday:
  $345 before Aug. 5
• To register for all day Thursday and all day Friday: $395 before Aug. 5
• To register for the entire event: $475 before Aug. 5
