City leaders – mayors, council members, city managers and key city employees – from across the country will be meeting at the National League of Cities Conference in Phoenix, Ariz., from Nov. 9 to 12, at the Phoenix Convention Center. Attendees will be learning about economic development, green cities and more. Many of the issues are among those promoted by America in Bloom, a national awards program focused on community development and enhancing quality of life.

America in Bloom will have visibility at this conference in the Congress of Cities Exposition and will be represented by Marvin Miller, America in Bloom’s president, and Jack Clausen, awards program chair. You have an opportunity to meet with them personally in Booth #717. This is America in Bloom’s 10th year participating in the conference.

Among items in the booth will be the organization’s new book Ten Years of Best Ideas, which features nearly 2,000 best practices and photographs from America in Bloom participating cities. In addition, the new Community Action Kit will debut. It offers customizable presentations, posters and postcards, and other materials for communities interested in getting started with this popular national program.
