Applications Now Available for AFE Intern Scholarships
Applications are now available for the American Floral Endowment’s (AFE) Vic & Margaret Ball and Mosmiller Intern Scholarship Programs for eligible students. These programs help students gain hands-on, real-world floriculture experience. The Vic & Margaret Ball Intern Scholarship Program, established in 1992, specifically funds training at floriculture production greenhouses throughout the country. The Balls created this program to guarantee future students practical greenhouse experience opportunities without financial worry.
The Mosmiller Intern Scholarship Program was established in 1975 and helps support students who participate in internships at a retail florists, wholesalers or allied trade companys.
To be considered for these scholarship opportunities that are administered by AFE, students must:
- be a U.S. citizen currently enrolled in a floriculture/environmental horticulture program at a two- or four-year college or university
- maintain a 2.0 or better GPA
- complete the internship prior to graduation.
Both scholarship programs are awarded twice each year. To be eligible for scholarships, the deadline for receiving applications at the AFE office is March 1 in the spring and Oct. 1 in the fall.
