D.S. Cole Growers Succulents Win Big at OSU Consumer Trials

Each year, consumers rank their favorite combination containers at the Ohio State University’s annual trials based on performance and durability. This year, the top-ranked container was D.S. Cole’s echeveria collection. Not far behind was D.S. Cole’s succulent collection, which ranked third in the consumer evaluation. D.S. Cole offers the echeveria collection as a package of 100 young plants including six different varieties. The succulent collection includes 200 liners with a selection of 12 different varieties. Adorn Fungicide Registered for Use in California

Valent Professional Products recently announced its Adorn Fungicide had been registered for use on ornamentals in the state of California. Adorn is a new chemistry that controls downy mildew, Phytophthora and Pythium in greenhouse, nursery and outdoor landscape settings. Available for use as a spray or drench, Adorn is highly effective against a number of diseases affecting California ornamentals, including sudden oak death (Phytophthora ramorum). Hoffman Nursery, Inc. Reorganizes Sales, Marketing Departments

Hoffman Nursery, Inc., a wholesale grower of ornamental and native grass liners, recently announced the reorganization of its sales and marketing departments. Jennifer Arenkiel, who has served as sales and customer service manager for the nursery since 2006, will leave the company this fall. Following Arenkiel’s departure, Hoffman will merge sales, customer service and marketing into a single department. Shannon Currey, who has been with Hoffman Nursery for more than three years and has served in many capacities, will head the newly minted department and ensure that marketing efforts are coordinated with sales initiatives, bringing much-needed information to customers.
