DLV Plant Starts Operations In Latin America
On Jan. 1, 2009, Dutch advisory board organization DLV Plant will open a new independent company in Costa Rica: DLV Plant Agro Consultores Latin America, S.A. The new company will focus on advisory services for entrepreneurs in the horticultural sector in Latin America.
Effort will be channeled into bilateral projects between the Dutch and Latin American horticulture sectors, including obtaining subsidies from the European community and Dutch government; technical support; agricultural project developments from feasibility studies to turnkey projects; management coaching; staff training; human resources and staff searches; matchmaking with Dutch and foreign companies; and renewal energy and biomass conversions.
The new Latin American plant will be managed by Jan Wybrand Tuinstra, who lives in Costa Rica and has many years of experience working in the horticultural sector in Latin America. He previously was responsible for research and production of pineapple with Del Monte and served as Fides’ regional director.
Tuinstra will closely cooperate with DLV Plant experts in the Netherlands to advise the horticultural sector in Latin America. The team will be expanded in the coming years and become active in horticultural sectors all over Latin America.
The creation of the new company is a response to the tremendous developments within the sector in this region, according to a DLV press release. With the establishment of a branch office in Costa Rica for the Latin American market, DLV Plant is moving forward with its mission to expand its presence at the international level.
