Echeveria

Coral Reef echeveria are great on a patio or almost anywhere! They are great as standalone plants or can be grown together in combinations. Ruffled leaves have brilliant coloring on their tips. These succulents are drought tolerant and are easy to manage in pot-to-pot production.

Echeveria are slow growing and require warm temperatures for maximum growth. They are best started in late spring or during the summer and held for sales the following spring season.

Use a very well-drained soil mix with a pH range of 5.5 to 6.0. EC range should be 0.6 to 0.8 in peat with sand/perlite mix. Water slightly and allow soil to dry completely between irrigation. Avoid overwatering, especially during cool, cloudy weather. Watering during the winter holding of succulents is down to every four to six weeks.

Apply 50 to 100 ppm of nitrate formulation. Succulents do not require much feed for growth. Applying occasional clear-water irrigation is recommended for maximum growth and root quality.

Pinch at transplant of liner or shortly after transplant to create a branched and compact plant. When plants become mature, some trimming of overgrown shoots may be required.
