Ecke's Byron Calderon Wins Prestigious Award

Ecke Ranch and Ecke Geraniums, S.A. recently announced that Byron Calderon, Ecke Guatemala's general manager, has won the 2010 Manager of the Year Award in the Expansion category for the country of Guatemala.

Ecke Ranch and Ecke Geraniums, S.A. recently announced that Byron Calderon, Ecke Guatemala's general manager, has won the 2010 Manager of the Year Award in the Expansion category for the country of Guatemala.

This award is given to individuals for outstanding professional achievements in their respective areas of responsibility as well as leadership skills, vision, and ability to make decisions that have served as a catalyst for increased business growth, strategic thinking and other capabilities. Calderon was honored by the AsociaciĆ³n de Gerentes de Guatemala (Managers Association of Guatemala) in a special ceremony held in October 2010 in Guatemala City.

Calderon joined the company in December of 2000, and just celebrated his 10 year anniversary.

"I am honored, very please and feel a great sense of accomplishment in receiving this award," stated Calderon. "I dedicate this award to the Ecke Guatemala team because I believe that the only way to achieve big things is with the help and commitment of the people working with you. It's important to create a pleasant working environment, allowing people to develop their skills by guiding them and encouraging them to be the best that they can be."
