Selecting the Right Lighting System for Your CEA Crop

Lighting up CEA crops: Selecting a lighting system that works for you.
There has been a huge increase in the options available for CEA lighting fixtures and control systems. Where should a grower begin with selecting their lighting system? The session will start with a refresher on lighting needs for the most common CEA crops. Neil will then discuss the most important factors when choosing a lighting system, including: light output, up-front cost, energy efficiency, and spectrum. Learn about calculator tools available to determine your own lighting needs and run scenarios to see which fixture will be most cost effective for you in the long-run. Advanced plant lighting controls determine how much light is available from the sun and precisely deliver the supplemental light needed without wasting money on over lighting. Neil will present research based results on the energy savings of advanced lighting control.
