ePlantSource Offers New Online Cart Features
ePlantSource has announced the release of upgraded features to their online cart. Freight costs and other supplier surcharges are now calculated in the cart and displayed before an order is placed.
ePlantSource, a full-service, online broker of live goods to professional greenhouse growers, recently announced the release of upgraded features to their cart. With this release freight costs and other supplier surcharges are calculated in the cart and displayed before an order is placed. Because of the nature of shipping live goods and the variance of box dimensions and weights, oftentimes customers have had to wait until the shipment arrives to get the freight costs.
“We feel that calculating our customers freight charges up front is critical to enabling them to make informed purchasing decisions and allowing them to best manage their input costs for the season,” said Gary Falkenstein, president and CEO at ePlantSource. “We were able to enhance our system to take all of the variances and considerations from a multitude of suppliers and provide our customers with an accurate estimated freight cost.”
“We have had some customers receive shipments where they end up paying more for the freight than the product,” said Suzanne McKee, director of marketing at ePlantSource. “Unfortunately, this is a reality and is sometimes unavoidable, but we feel that our customers need access to all of the information up front so they can determine if it is worth it.”
The cart enhancements are currently live on the site and customers will be able to view estimated freight charges and other miscellaneous supplier charges from the cart before any commitment to the order is made.
