Fleuroselect announced six Gold Medal awards given to new varieties that will be available in 2015 for wholesale and 2016 for retail.

The Gold Medal award is presented to new varieties that have been tested by Fleuroselect and independent judges at trial grounds throughout Europe. Recipients exceeded existing varieties in terms of breeding innovation and beauty.

The following new varieties received Gold Medal awards:

Calamintha nepeta ‘Marvelette Blue’ – Van Hemert & Co.
Cosmos bipinnatus ‘Xanthos’ – Van Hemert & Co.
Echinacea purpurea ‘Feeling Rose’ – HM. Clause
Helenium autumnale ‘Western Mixture’ – HM. Clause
Ocimum basilicum ‘Purple Ball’ – NARIC Fruitculture Research Institute
Petunia x hybrida Tidal Wave ‘Red Velour’ – PanAmerican Seed
