‘Sonic Scarlet ‘09’ is one of three new additions to the Sonic series this year. It may be grown in all container sizes but is particularly suited for 6-inch, baskets and larger containers. Its large flowers and vigor make it a good choice for landscape beds and outside gardening. Other new colors are Sweet Orange ‘09 and Sweet Purple ‘09.
A new red tubular form of gaillardia, ‘El Fuego’ is related to the seed-grown variety ‘Burgundy’ but is more compact. ‘El Fuego’ is long-blooming and suitable for beds, borders and containers. Trials show that it thrives in heat and humidity, retaining healthy foliage and flowers.
‘Belinda Blue’ is a new variety with a compact, ball-shaped plant habit. It features early and uniform flowering. Cobalt-blue flowers are
presented over deep-green foliage. ‘Belinda Blue’ is suitable for 4-inch pots.
An ideal variety for hot locations, ‘Summer Splash White’ is bred to bloom early and continously throughout the season. It features pure white, 1-inch blooms with a bright-yellow eye. Habit is compact and upright. ‘Summer Splash White’ will reach 24-30 inches tall and spread up to 24 inches.
