The Poppelmann group was founded in 1949 and is 100 percent family owned. The group is headquartered in Germany and employs more than 1,100 people worldwide. Poppelmann operates in four divisions and works among others within the automotive and machine-building industry, as well as the food, pharmaceutical and medical industry. Poppelmann's TEKU division comprises a large range of horticultural containers, trays, hanging baskets and more that have sold in the USA since 2000. Poppelmann Plastics USA LLC is located in Hickory, N.C., with a 55,000 sq. ft. manufacturing and warehouse facility in Claremont, N.C., currently under construction. Production start is planned for early 2007.
