Industry Veterans Form Business Solutions Group
Three long-time horticultural industry veterans have joined forces to form the Visions Group, a new company to provide collaborative business solutions to the horticultural industry on a contract basis.
GPN’s consulting editor, Dr. Jim Barrett, along with Dave Edenfield and Jim Snyder are principals in the Visions Group. Edenfield, formerly of Smith Gardens, is president and will devote all of his time to the company. Barrett will remain professor of horticulture at the University of Florida, and Snyder will continue running his company Superfresh Marketing. Barrett and Snyder will contribute to the Visions Group on specific projects. Barrett, Edenfield and Snyder’s combined 90 plus years of industry experience give them a background in all facets of the horticulture industry.
“Our venture will differ significantly in services from those provided by current industry consultants,” explains Edenfield. “The Visions Group will be drawing upon numerous industry relationships to provide business solutions to a limited number of non-conflicting clients. Our business model allows us to form a long-term partnership with our clients and function in a team atmosphere.”
The Visions Group will work with growers, breeders and allied companies in areas such as sales and marketing, relationship management, brand and identity development, organizational development and implementation, product development and testing and crop production issues.
