International Trials Conference Announces Speakers, Garden Stops
The 2015 International Trials Conference will take place Aug. 24-27 in conjunction with the 2015 Farwest Show in Portland, Oregon. The International Trials Conference is held biannually for plant professionals and leaders to share ideas on evaluation strategies, develop trialing standards and explore the plant characteristics demanded by plant buyers and growers. Attendees can experience the following: -Keynote speaker Dr. Allan Armitage who will share his expertise on the latest research and techniques for trialing annual, perennial and woody plants -Bus tours that showcase trial garden sites and nurseries -Educational sessions from plant trial experts on trialing research, issues, current innovations and setting standards – A roundtable session lead by Armitage and Diane Blazek of All-American Selections -A message on the importance of trials from closing keynote speaker Marshall Dirks Other speakers include : -Pat Hayward -Jim Ault -Susie Raker -Jonathan Pedersen Trial gardens on tour include : -International Rose Test Garden -OSU North Willamette Research Extension Center -Fessler Nursery -Terra Nova Nurseries -Swan Island Dahlias The conference is open to all industry professionals who are interested in plant trialing.
