Make Plans for the 2010 Southeast Color Connection

April 30, 2010 - 11:43

In its first year as the Southeast Color Connection, the event formerly known as the Southeast Greenhouse Conference has been refocused to connect the industry with ideas and insights, targeted educational sessions and industry suppliers.

The Southeast Color Connection will take place June 16 to 18 at the Carolina First Center in Greenville, S.C. Visible changes include a scheduling shift to Wednesday through Friday, exclusive trade show hours, an educational track and section of the show floor focused on retail, and expanded networking opportunities.

Highlights for this year include:

  • Garden Center Pavilion: Attendees can view retail-specific products, mingle with peers and compare notes. Participants can interact with exhibitors whose products and services are needed in a retail operation as well as participate in an all-day Garden Center Business Development Workshop on June 16, taught by Robert Hendrickson and Sid Raisch of The Garden Center Group.
  • New Speakers: This year’s event features 45 speakers, including Felder Rushing, who will present a keynote address on “The Joy of Dirt"; Stephanie Burnett and Neil Mattson, who will discuss sustainable production; Youbin Zheng, whose presentation focuses on irrigation efficiency; and Juang Horng Chong, who will discuss insect identification.
  • Registration Incentives: In addition to early registration incentives, each additional person who registers for the full three-day conference receives 20 percent off. Attendees also will receive complimentary lunch on trade show days.
