Responsible for overseeing construction of 5 acres of new gardens and adding more than 38,500 permanent plants of over 2,150 taxa to the plant collection. Has mentored more than 50 interns during his nine years at GBBG. “I love getting a fresh perspective from young people.”
Pursuing His Plant Passion: After working for three and a half years as a civil engineer, Mark realized that was not his passion, so he went back to college to study horticulture.
Working to Relax: After a hard day of working out in the gardens, Mark likes to work out. “a workout after work calms me down and transitions me to personal time.”
