New England Greenhouse Conference Announces Educational ProgramsSource: New England Greenhouse Conference

Mark your calendar for the New England Greenhouse Conference, which will be held from October 18-20t at the Centrum Center in Worcester, Mass. Each day will feature consecutive tracks of educational programs. Educational sessions focusing on greenhouse production (basic and advanced), retail garden centers and business management, and an herbaceous perennial school will be featured on Monday, October 18. Greenhouse crops (including herbs and vegetative annuals), starting a greenhouse business, business management, pest management, customer service and herbaceous perennials will be featured on Tuesday, October 19. More on vegetative annuals and greenhouse crops, business management and profitability, pest management, perennials and greenhouse engineering will be covered on October 20. More than 60 educational sessions will be offered during this 3-day educational conference.

A few of the welcomed speakers include : Dan Heims (Terra Nova Nurseries) on Spring Forward & Fall in Love with New Perennials; Will Healy & Mitch Rand (Ball Seed Company), on Watering & Irrigation; New Varieties from Seed, Lloyd Traven (Peace Tree Farm) on Herbs: The ABC’s of Growing and Selling Herbs; David Hartley (Colorado State University), on Plant Growth Regulators – An Expert’s View; and Margery Daughtrey (Cornell University) on Steps to Diagnosing Plant Problem and Management Options for Viruses and Bacteria. A trade show featuring 200 exhibitors of plants and hard goods will be held on October 19 and 20th.
