New Syngenta Fungicide Receives EPA Registration
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has granted federal registration of new Mural fungicide from Syngenta for use on potted and bedding plants, foliage plants, perennials, trees, shrubs and a wide variety of vegetable transplants.
State registrations are pending.
Mural contains two active ingredients: Solatenol and azoxystrobin fungicides.
According to Syngenta, Mural offers growers the following features:
- Labeled to control ornamental diseases, including flower blights and soil-borne diseases
- Systemic and translaminar activity protects crops from root to leaf tip
- Labeled for use in greenhouses, shade houses, lath houses, outdoor nurseries and retail nurseries.
- Can be applied as foliar spray, directed spray to the stem or base of plants, or by drench to containers.
“Solatenol is a new active ingredient developed by Syngenta that strongly binds to the plant’s waxy layer and slowly penetrates the tissue,” said Nancy Rechcigl, field technical manager for Syngenta.
Mural is formulated as a water-dispersible granule (WDG) using the Pepite Technology process developed by Syngenta. This unique manufacturing method produces WDGs that dissolve immediately in water, providing convenience and efficiency for growers.
