2008 Plug and Cutting Conference to Meet Later This MonthSource: OFA - An Association of Floriculture Professionals

Calling all young plant professionals: The 2008 Plug & Cutting Conference, an intensive, hands-on learning and network event focused on increasing profits, will take place Sept. 28 to Oct. 1, 2008 in Orlando, Fla.

The conference, a comprehensive sweep of almost every aspect of plug and cutting production, pest management and business management for this specialty market, promises to be of interest to everyone in the young plant business.

Event highlights include three pre-conference workshops, two days of educational sessions, a targeted exhibition, Spanish-language sessions, networking events and two post-conference tours.

Session topics include “Disease Identification and Control” by Ann Chase of Chase Horticultural Research; “Understanding and Using Growth Regulators Properly” by the University of Florida’s Jim Barrett; ” Understanding and Motivating Your Latino Workforce” by Yasmin Metivier of Panoltia, Inc.; “Recruiting, Training & Retaining” by an expert panel; and “Immigration Regulations, Programs, Visas.”

The conference includes a special two-day program designed for Spanish-speaking plug, cutting and stock plant growers.
