Al's Garden Center Donates Tomato PlantsSource: Al's Garden Center

Local community groups, schools, senior centers and hospitals gathered in Sherwood, Ore., on May 21 to pick up their share of 1,500 tomato plants donated by Al’s Garden Center.

The plants, which have been sustainably grown in Al’s Garden Centers greenhouses in nearby Hubbard, Ore., are part of the business’s effort to keep food-producing plants out of the compost pile and in local gardens.

Al’s Garden Center, originally founded in 1948 as a fruit stand and as a garden center 11 years later, is a third-generation family owned and operated business. Currently operating in three locations, each of the three garden centers is supplied and supported by Al’s Greenhouses.
