American Phytopathological Society Elects OfficersSource: American Phytopathological Society

The American Phytopathological Society (APS) has elected new officers for 2007-2008. The APS was pleased to welcome Barbara Christ as vice president. She will serve as APS president in 2009-2010. Currently, Christ is a professor and head of the Department of Plant Pathology at Penn State University.

Michael Boehm was elected councilor-at-large and will serve a three-year term. He is an associate professor and associate chair of the Department of Plant Pathology at the Ohio State University.

The new officers’ terms will begin at the conclusion of the society’s 2007 meeting. This meeting, which joins APS with the Society of Nematologists, began on July 28 and takes place until Aug. 1, 2007.
