Northwest Horticulture Honored

Northwest Horticulture (NWH) announced its Grower Planning Wheel has received the Garden Writers Association (GWA) Silver Award of Achievement for the Trade – Special Project category. The wheel-like device helps growers plan for the purchase and planting of perennial, ornamental grass and landscape rose plugs based on desired finish size and ready date of retail containers. NWH’s Grower Planning Wheel was one of 271 entries judged by a panel of members of the gardening, communications and academic communities. Receiving the Silver Award of Achievement puts the Grower Planning Wheel in the running for GWA’s Gold Awards for Best Product. BASF Enters U.S. Nursery And Greenhouse Markets

BASF Professional Turf & Ornamentals announced its formal entry into the U.S. greenhouse and nursery markets. Building on its chemical products designed for the golf, lawn care, sod and sports turf markets, BASF now provides ornamental growers fungicides, herbicides and insecticides to help them be more competitive.

Ball Horticultural Company announced the relaunch of its newly updated Web site at www.balllandscape.com. The Web site is designed to provide information about using colorful annuals and perennials in the landscape.

New features on the Web site include an EasyScape section, an enhanced plant search, an updated listing of suppliers, new landscape photography and links to additional resources.
