LINLA Names “Men of the Year”

The Long Island Nursery & Landscape Association (LINLA) has named Dwight Andrews and Gary A. Brown, Ph.D., as 2008 “Men of the Year.” Andrews is an award-winning landscape designer, and Brown is chairman of ornamental horticulture at Farmingdale State College. The award acknowledges their significant contributions to Long Island’s green industry.

According to a LINLA press release, Andrews has served 20 years in the association and maintained the highest levels of professionalism. As an educator, Dr. Brown has impacted thousands of students since 1970.

“Recognition of Dwight’s and Gary’s contributions was as inevitable as it is well-deserved,” says LINLA President Sal Masullo. “The green industry on Long Island owes its current stature and national reputation for excellence, in part, to their decades of active involvement.”
