BioWorks Receives VeriFlora Approval for Fungicide
BioWorks, Inc. recently announced it has received VeriFlora approval for the company’s EPA registered biological fungicide PlantShield HC.
VeriFlora, a sustainability certification program for plants and flowers, was recently expanded to include approved materials manufacturers. BioWorks’ product, RootShield Granules, was the first product to be approved under this expansion.
Like RootShield Granules, PlantShield HC is based on a beneficial, patented, hybrid fungus Trichoderma harzianum, strain T-22, that protects roots, stems and leaves from many pathogens. It is labeled for indoor and outdoor root disease control on greenhouse and outdoor ornamentals, herbs and vegetables, and can be drenched into the soil for root rot protection or applied as a foliar spray to prevent Botrytis and mildews on ornamentals.
