Pleasant View Gardens Hires National Sales Manager

Peter Gilmore has joined the Pleasant View Gardens team as national sales manager. As a native of Maryland and graduate of the Stockbridge School of Agriculture, Gilmore has extensive knowledge of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.

After completing 10 years with the Ball Seed Company as a territory sales representative and Northeast sales manager, Pete and his wife, Marie, owned and operated Woodside Greenhouse in Caroline County, Md.

In his new role as national sales manager with Pleasant View Gardens, Gilmore will work closely with grower customers and brokers to assist them in developing successful programs. In addition to traveling with broker reps to visit growers and retailers, he also will work with Pleasant View’s inside sales and customer service team in an effort to continuously improve and expand the level of service that Pleasant View provides to its customers.

BioWorks Receives VeriFlora Approval for Fungicide

BioWorks, Inc. recently announced it has received VeriFlora approval for the company’s EPA registered biological fungicide PlantShield HC.

VeriFlora, a sustainability certification program for plants and flowers, was recently expanded to include approved materials manufacturers. BioWorks’ product, RootShield Granules, was the first product to be approved under this expansion.

Like RootShield Granules, PlantShield HC is based on a beneficial, patented, hybrid fungus Trichoderma harzianum, strain T-22, that protects roots, stems and leaves from many pathogens. It is labeled for indoor and outdoor root disease control on greenhouse and outdoor ornamentals, herbs and vegetables, and can be drenched into the soil for root rot protection or applied as a foliar spray to prevent Botrytis and mildews on ornamentals.
