ASCFG Growers’ School Slated for March
The Association of Speciality Cut Flower Growers (ASCFG) is offering a day-and-a-half program to provide cut flower growers instruction on both growing and designing their products. The ASCFG Growers School will take place March 3-4 at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden in Fort Worth, Texas. The first day will feature growers talking about their sales and floral design strategies for florists, supermarkets and farmers markets accounts. Sessions will emphasize wedding sales and arrangements, with hands-on opportunities for attendees. The second day will include cut flower production and business management classes. They will cover topics such as record keeping for farmers, cultivar selection, efficient field and greenhouse practices and postharvest handling steps.
