Environmental Science, a division of Bayer CropScience LP, has announced that its North American turf and ornamentals business will move to fully serve the production ornamentals market on Nov. 1, 2016. Bayer Crop Science and OHP, Inc., also announced they will terminate their long-standing, marketing agreement effective Oct. 31, 2016.

OHP, Inc. has been the exclusive marketer of Bayer products in the U.S. ornamental nursery and greenhouse market for over 26 years.

The shift will enable the Bayer T&O business to serve professional growers in greenhouses, nurseries and garden centers across the United States.

“OHP has been a highly valued partner of Bayer for the past 26 years,” said Gilles Galliou, president of Bayer Environmental Science North America. “Moving ahead, Bayer looks forward to an exciting opportunity to be more directly engaged with the high-quality businesses in this vibrant industry and to get even closer to our customers.

OHP will continue to service the full line of Bayer products through October 31, 2016. After that date OHP will continue to market Marathon G, Marathon 60 and Marathon II Insecticides, Discus Insecticide, Decathlon Insecticide and OHP Chipco 26019 N/G Fungicide sourced from Bayer.

“Our partnership with Bayer has been an important part of the OHP business over the years and we look forward to working together with them going forward on selected products” says Ron Soldo, president and CEO of OHP.

“While we regret having the opportunity to develop new products from Bayer, our overall mission is to provide our customers with a wide range of solution based technology and we will continue to do this for long into the future.”

Although Bayer and OHP are changing their relationship as of Nov. 1, 2016, the two organizations will continue to work together to seamlessly meet customers’ needs throughout the year-long transition period.
