Costa Layman Health Fair Celebrates 10th Anniversary
Last month, Costa Layman Farms and the Georgia Regents University College of Nursing celebrated the 10th anniversary of their annual health fair.
Ten year ago, the two groups came together a decade ago to offer preventative health care for workers at the plant nurserys location in Trenton, South Carolina.
On Friday, July 17 the health fair marked its 10th anniversary and organizers announced it has provided more than 2,500 free health screenings over the years.
“It was one of the most rewarding experiences Ive ever been a part of,” said Aprile Osborn, a Biobehavorial Nursing instruction. “It was so humbling to be a part of something bigger than myself.”
More than 300 employees received access to free preventative and personalized health screenings. These included free lab work; skin, vision, dental, respiratory, blood pressure, HIV, and bone density screenings; nutrition counseling; and occupational and physical therapy.
