Dallas Johnson Greenhouses Founder Dies
The founder of Dallas Johnson Greenhouses in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Dallas G. Johnson, passed away Jan. 7, 2017. He was 78.
Johnson purchased his greenhouse business in Council Bluffs in 1985. Back then the company started out with 40,000 square feet of growing area. Over the years, the company continually expanded and today has two facilities totaling more than 60 acres of indoor growing space.
His son, Todd Johnson, is now the company’s president and CEO.
The company provides annuals, perennials, vegetables, herbs, fall mums, Easter lilies and poinsettias to customers in Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Arkansas, Colorado, Oklahoma and Wisconsin.
Johnson made a lot of friends over the years and shortly after his death well-wishers posted comments that can be seen on the company’s Facebook page.
