Darwin Perennials Day will take place June 21, at the Gardens at Ball in West Chicago, Ill.

Darwin Perennials Day will take place June 21, at the Gardens at Ball in West Chicago, Ill.

Visitors will see the latest varieties for 2013, compare top-selling plants in Zone 5 overwintered trial gardens, and meet industry experts during the open house.

2012 Darwin Perennials Day opens at 8 a.m. until 3 p.m., and includes a light breakfast and sit-down luncheon.

Besides a preview of the newest varieties of bareroot and vegetative and tissue culture intros other highlights include :

  • Seed-raised perennials from Kieft-Pro-Seeds
  • Flowering shrubs from Ball Ornamentals
  • Mixed container ideas with perennials, and
  • Educational seminars

“This is our third annual Darwin Perennial Day, and it has become a must-see event for growers interested in perennial program information, culture and new varieties,” says Mike Klopmeyer, General Manager for Darwin Perennials. “Guests will find all the tools they need to succeed from just one day dedicated to perennials.”
