Follow-Up: N.C. MarketReady Offers Free WebinarSource: NCSU

N.C. MarketReady, a program of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension, is offering a free webinar at 10 a.m. EST on March 10 to introduce the new Tomato Growers Information Portal. (Read GPN‘s original news story on the portal on www.gpnmag.com.)

The hour-long session will be an “online tour” for growers and extension agents to highlight key resources on the portal, including production guides, IPM information and crop budgets. Tomato specialists from North Carolina State University will guide the tour and answer questions after the session. The webinar is geared toward N.C. growers, but the portal contains resources that tomato growers throughout the region may find valuable.

Presenters include vegetable product specialist Dr. Chris Gunter, Department of Horticultural Science; Rod Gurganus, team leader of N.C. MarketReady; Dr. Kelly Ivors, a plant pathologist in the Department of Plant Pathology; Dr. Katie Jennings, a weed management specialist in the Department of Horticultural Science; and Dr. Penelope Perkins-Veazie, postharvest physiologist at the Plants for Human Health Institute.

The webinar is open to anyone who wishes to attend; when asked for a login name and password, type in your first and last name and leave the password blank. Login is available up to an hour before the start time. For more information, visit www.ncmarketready.org/95-tomato-portal-web-tour.
