GCA Announces Launch of Fashion in BloomSource: Garden Centers of America

Garden Centers of America (GCA) is launching the second year of displaying the new plants for spring. GCA’s Fashion in Bloom, Collection 2007, formerly the Eastern Performance Trials, will highlight introductions that will be available to retailers in 2007, as well as newly improved plants.

From Sept. 20-22, 2006, breeders, marketers and growers will present their new collections to independent garden centers, landscape contractors, growers and the media.

“The 2006 event will have an outstanding display of new flowers, vines, trees, foliage and perennials,” said Clint Albin, project manager for GCA’s Fashion in Bloom. “By showcasing each company’s best plants to the trade and consumer media simultaneously, we hope to create excitement for the 2007 introductions at all levels from garden center operators to home gardeners.”

The host locations for the 2006 event will be:

  • American Horticultural Society at River Farm, Alexandria, Va.
  • Conard-Pyle Co., West Grove, Pa.
  • Homestead Growers, Davidsonville, Md.
  • McDonald Garden Center, Virginia Beach, Va.
  • Virginia Growers, Montpelier, Va.
