Hem Zaden B.V. Purchases Bodger’s Open-Pollinated Flower Seed HoldingsSource: Hem Zaden B.V.

As of Sept. 14, 2009, Hem Zaden B.V. will takes over the inventory and production of all open-pollinated flower seed varieties of Bodger Seeds Ltd., a division of John Bodger & Sons Co.
The purchase includes sweet peas, vinca ‘Heatwave’ and ‘Santa Fe’, antirrhinum ‘F1 Freesong’ and ‘F1 Rocket’, zinnia ‘F1 Dasher’ and ‘F1 Small World’, carnation ‘F1 Mini Spice’, cosmos ‘Sunny’ and ‘Cutesy’, Matthiola incana, and pansy ‘F1 Glory’ and ‘Dancer’.


Hem Zaden will continue the activities in breeding, selection and production of sweet peas, with production continuing in the Lompoc area. Orders for sweet peas within the United States and Canada will be processed and shipped from California, so there will be no significant changes in processing and shipping of orders to customers in North America. The remaining Bodger flower seed varieties will be processed and shipped from the Netherlands.


Until Saturday, Sept. 12, orders for the above varieties should be placed with Bodger Seeds Ltd., but orders will be handled by Hem Zaden B.V. in the Netherlands after Sept. 14, 2009. For more information, visit Hem Zaden B.V.’s website.
