HGTV Airs Hardware Show SpecialSource: National Hardware Show

This September, HGTV will air its annual special on the National Hardware Show. The program will debut Sunday, September 4 at 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. EST and Sunday, September 11 at 5 p.m. EST. It will feature 30-40 of the hottest products in the home improvement industry, selected by the HGTV team for their innovative design, unique functionality and time- or labor-saving benefits. The HGTV Web site – www.hgtv.com – will feature additional products.

At the 2005 show, more than 3,200 exhibitors displayed thousands of new products across some 681,191 sq.ft. of exhibit space. Products ranging from new patio furniture to garden ponds to paint brushes to push brooms lined the aisles. While the audit of show attendance is still being completed, it is estimated that attendance increased by 25 percent over last year’s show.

“I produce over three tradeshows every year for HGTV, and the National Hardware Show always wraps up the year for me with a refreshing and exciting show,” said Dianne Digregorio, producer, HGTV. “There’s a reason the National Hardware Show is one of the highest-rated programs on HGTV: From the great new products, to the informative exhibitors, to the pleasant environment, this show is one of my favorites.”

One of the most popular and well-attended attractions of the National Hardware Show was New Product World, which, according to The National Hardware Show, was doubled to accommodate all of the innovative new products introduced at the show. By allowing retail buyers and media to touch the products and see them in real-life merchandising displays, New Product World has become a valuable asset to all attendees and was well-documented by HGTV.

“We were thrilled to host HGTV at the 2005 National Hardware Show,” said Rob Cappiello, industry vice president of the National Hardware Show. “The show far exceeded everyone’s expectations, and we can’t wait to make the show even better for 2006 where we’ll be under one roof at the Las Vegas Convention Center.”
