Scripps Networks’ HGTV announced the launch of HGTVGardens.com, designed to inspire, inform and engage gardening enthusiasts.

The website is designed for beginners and professionals, and offers expert guidance and an online community of gardeners to support and help one another.

The site also features a Plant Finder tool, with comprehensive information on thousands of garden plants, searchable by both common and botanical names. It helps gardeners identify, select and grow the correct plants in the correct locations.

Each plant option is sorted by zone, light requirement and moisture level and accompanied by detailed photography – visitors can find the proper growth instructions for plants, shrubs and flowers best for their backyard. In addition, visitors can find a rotating assortment of related topics, including recipes, flower arrangements and container gardening.

A mobile version of the website allows users to bring the information directly to their gardens.

“HGTVGardens is social engagement at its best, offering our audience the chance to share photo albums of their own gardens, search for perfect plants and flowers for their area and ask questions of other gardeners,” said Jillian St. Charles, vice president, programing and strategy, HGTV.com. “Whether you are a beginner installing your first raised bed or a seasoned grower with a no-fail formula, HGTVGardens is the place to find inspirational ideas and information for any skill level.”
