Inaugural EAGL Group for Growers to Launch in JanuarySource: EAGL

The grower certificate program from StandPoint Inc. and Texas A&M University will begin Jan. 20, 2013 with 10 participants.

StandPoint Inc. and Texas A&M University recently announced the launch of the inaugural peer group for leading industry growers.

The Executive Academy for Growth & Leadership (EAGL) is a one-year executive education program, developed specifically for business leaders in the nursery and greenhouse production industry. It is the product of a multi-year design collaboration between program principals Kip Creel of StandPoint and Dr. Charlie Hall of Texas A&M University.

In addition to its function as a networking peer group, this comprehensive one-year educational experience will culminate in a continuing education Certificate in Applied Horticultural Business Management from Texas A&M University.

EAGL peer groups were designed for a target size of 12 participants representing a diversity of business sizes and production methods, with the guiding principle that no two participants would be competitors in a geographic region. The ten 2013 EAGL Group participants were selected through an application process and are all serving in ownership and senior leadership in their respective operations. Their businesses represent an exceptional spectrum of progressive, industry-leading nursery & greenhouse operations.

Participants for 2013 include Landmark Nurseries, Overdevest Nurseries, GreenForest Nursery, Willoway Nurseries, Wenke Greenhouses, Prides Corner Farms, Rockwell Farms, Ruppert Nurseries and Delray Plants.

The one-year program launches Jan. 20 in Atlanta. If qualified, up to two more EAGL participants could be accepted prior to Jan. 1.
