Jiffy Opens New Canadian FacilitySource: Jiffy Products

Jiffy recently opened a new substrate facility in Canada and broke ground on another new production facility in the Netherlands.

Jiffy Mix Loser Lake recently opened a new substrate facility in Canada . The company also broke ground on a new production facility in the Netherlands.

The facility, located in New Brunswick, spans 13,000 square feet and is located directly on one of Jiffy’s Peat bogs allowing for less peat handling, increasing final quality and lower freight rates. Also helping to accommodate the North American and Canadian markets is Jiffy’s substrate facility in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts which opened in October 2013.

Jiffy also has broken ground on a new facility in Oude Maasweg in Zwijndrech, The Netherlands. This new plant will encompass 25,000 square meters of production area and 550 square meters of office space as well as a harbour facility. Peat and other raw materials will be processed and mixed into high quality substrates for the professional grower. The existing harbor basin will be converted into a sea port allowing ships to dock at the new location. This location will be completed July 1, 2016.
