Look Out for 2007 Census of Agriculture FormsSource: USDA

Growers, make sure to check your mail at the end of the month. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) will be mailing out Census forms on Dec. 28, 2007, to collect data for the 2007 calendar year.

The department urges all agricultural growers and farmers to make sure their operation is counted in the 2007 Census of Agriculture, a critical tool that provides farmers with a voice in the future of their community and all of agriculture.

The Census is conducted every five years by the USDA. Completed forms are due by Monday, Feb. 4, 2008. Producers can return their forms by mail or, for the first time, they have the option of filling out the Census online. For more information, visit www.agcensus.usda.gov or call (888) 424-7828.
