Michigan Garden Plant Tour Slated for August
If you want to observe how thousands of garden plants perform under Michigan growing conditions and view side-by-side comparisons of new plant material, join leading young plant growers and Michigan State University (MSU) during the fifth annual Michigan Garden Plant Tour set to take place Aug. 4-15. All floriculturists and landscapers are invited to visit the tour stops to observe new garden varieties and performance evaluations, as well as attend the MSU Garden Plant Showcase.
The tour has once again increased in size with the addition of Zylstra Greenhouses. Joining MSU and Zylstra are C. Raker and Sons, Duwayne’s Greenhouses, Four Star Greenhouse, Mast Young Plants, Pell Greenhouses and Walters Gardens. During this two-week open house, each young plant producer will showcase their plant specialties and product lines in their outdoor gardens.
Visit the Michigan Garden Plant Tour website at www.hrt.msu.edu/planttour or call Sandy Allen at (517) 355-5191 ext. 1339 for more information. There is no fee to attend the tour, and the educational program at MSU on Tuesday, Aug. 5 is $35 per person and includes lunch.
