New Packaging Concept Simplifies Retailer POP, Consumer Shopping
Under A Foot Plant Company and Stepables recently announced the launch of Grab ‘n’ Go Paks. In an attempt to reduce retailers’ 2010 signage and POP costs, the new packaging targets consumers with clear and concise brand messaging directly on the product.
Independent garden centers can use the packaging to take advantage of consumer impulse sales with value-added products — they’re colorful, engaging and easy to carry — and for retailers, they eliminate the extra expense of additional POP display material. The Grab ‘n’ Go Paks are manufactured with recyclable polypropylene, so they will not tear, break or fade in the various outdoor environments of a retail garden center. They can be easily dropped into curbside recycling bins for disposal.
From a total of 160 Stepables varieties, 95 plants have been selected for inclusion to three new Grab ‘n’ Go programs. Each format represents a category of Stepables plant, and the packaging is designed to make plant selection easier and more enjoyable. Each program has its own “Happy Guy” icon, Stepables’ branding symbol:
- Tough Ten, with a “hunky” Happy Guy mascot, includes the 10 most robust plants in the line, for consumers who want low-maintenance, durable plants for their landscapes.
- Sole Mates includes top 45 plants for direct foot traffic usage, with a new Happy Guy designed as a carefree, relaxed gardener. These plants all thrive under moderate to heavy foot traffic and are the hardiest options for landscape applications such as pathways and lawn replacement areas.
- Garden Soleutions are the most diverse 40 plants in the Stepables line as solution-providers for common landscape applications, such as bark and mulch replacement, slopes, retaining walls and ponds. The newly designed Happy Guy shows off “before and after” pictures of Stepables.
