Northwest Horticulture has hired Debbie Thorne (formerly Hewlett) as program product manager for its Grower Division and Gina Falcetti as research and development manager.

Thorne has spent over 25 years at Skagit Gardens where her experience included production planning, sales and marketing, as well as new product development. A key responsibility has been working with breeders and agents on introducing new genetics to the horticultural marketplace. At Northwest Horticulture, she will manage broker relationships with regard to new and existing grower programs, as well as coordinate with Gina on the introduction of new genetics into the broker and retail distribution network.

Falcetti has more than 25 years’ experience in the nursery business, including long tenures at both White Flower Farm and Skagit Gardens. The last 15 years have been focusing on the evaluation and introduction of new plants from around the world. Her background includes propagation, stock management and production with a specialty in perennial plants. Falcetti’s focus will be testing and trialing new genetics, as well as leading other research and development products.

“Both Debbie and Gina are well known throughout the entire horticultural industry for their expertise. Their experience will enable NWH to expand its Research and Development footprint, as well as make a major push into one of our growth goals. Thanks to their skill and dedication, we will be introducing new perennial varieties and developing our relationships with other world-renowned breeders,” said company CEO Robert Manne.
