OFA Short Course to Support Local Charities through Product DonationsSource: OFA - an Association of Horticulture Professionals

At the close of each year’s OFA Short Course, OFA – an Association of Horticulture Professionals – ensures that leftover plants are put into the hands of those who most appreciate and need them. For several years, the association has partnered with universities, hospitals and mental health facilities to give them access to this extra plant material.

This year, other local organizations will participate in the process. The Habitat for Humanity and the Columbus Housing Partnership will sell the products to consumers to raise money to support the organizations’ mission. The Ronald McDonald House and local nursing homes will have approximately 500 fresh floral arrangements delivered as a courtesy of the designers, volunteers and FTD Flower Exchange. Jody Brown-Spivey, owner of Expressions Floral Design Studio in Gahanna, Ohio, will coordinate the delivery as an event volunteer.
