OFA Symposium Helps Growers with PoinsettiasSource: OFA

For wholesale and retail growers who are constantly seeking ways to improve their production and marketing of poinsettias – along with their bottom line – the OFA wants to help.

OFA – an association of Floriculture Professionals is presenting a 1 1/2-day symposium, “Poinsettias: The Nuts & Bolts and the Dollars & Cents,” aimed at helping growers squeeze the very last dollar out of production costs while still providing a top-quality product.

The symposium will take place on Nov. 13-14, at the Paul Ecke Ranch in Encinitas, Calif. Industry leaders will provide answers to growers’ poinsettia challenges. This intense symposium will teach growers about scheduling, temperature, light, nutrition, media, water, height management, diagnostics and varieties.

Jan Hall and Roger Kehoe, Paul Ecke Ranch; Allen Hammer, Dummen; Harvey Lang, Fischer USA; Richard Lindquist, OHP Inc.; and Stefan Reiner, Selecta First Class, will introduce new forms and presentations, varieties and specialty programs to help growers reap a greater margin.

Registration information is available on the OFA Web site at www.ofa.org.
